It was with great pleasure that I accepted an invitation and attended the speech of President Obama at the Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Japan 11-14-2009.
The President was warmly welcomed by a crowd which had gathered and waited in the rain for several hours before the security screening and finally a dry seat in the Suntory Hall where President Obama spoke. …

Sucarnochee Revue --- Steve Gardner
Jacky Jack White, dressed in a shark skin suit and John B. Stetson hat, had to duck low to get his extra tall frame through the back stage door of the Meridian Temple Theatre. He came spinning out to greet us on that hot mid-August Saturday afternoon like a fire ball caught up in a whirl wind. Jacky was shaking our hands, talking a mile a minute, sipping a pepsi and pitching in to help us load in our guitars, mandolin, up right bass, banjos,…

The FOLKS at NATIONAL RESOPHONIC are the "THE ONES WHO PUT THE TONE IN YOUR CONE!"

Everyone that I met was building these works of art with their hearts and minds and with the same care that they would if they were planing on bringing it home with them at the end…

Koritsu University America Day Concert
Hisa Nakase and myself had the great pleasure to play an American Roots ‘N Blues show for about 750 young women at Kyoritsu University, one of Japan’s oldest women’s universities.
The young women who attended were ready for some fun. They were clapping and singing along form the first song or two. Many told me later that it was their first time to ever hear “our kind” of music or even to…

We have been having big fun this week with the one and only Don YOUNG, the head honcho of NATIONAL GUITARS, what a wild man! Don was kind enough to look over my worn boxes lending an adjusting hand while offering up the low down on some of the changes that have been made in the new models. So little time and so many guitars! If you have ever wanted a National Guitar, NOW IS THE TIME. They have never been better. AND they are making a great…

I just got in from Berlin a few hours ago. The trip was really good this year. COLD but....a quick up date-I hit Berlin with Tokyo Bill Benfield. We rode the public transport with bags and all from the airport over to Jake Leg Stomper, Brandon Armstrong's 5 floor WALK Up apt, heated by a small COAL burning stove which he shares with Chris Rannenberg, one of Europe's best blues piano players. In spite of their warm five bottle of wine welcome, I chipped…
