We had BIG FUN at the Yokohama Jug band festival Saturday April 11. We played at two of the five stages along with the nearly 50 other Jug Bands from all over Japan-Shikoku to Hokaido and then some.
The event was organized by Mr. Moony, the Boyz over at THUMBS UP and a huge staff of volunteers that keep the beer cold and the stages hopping!
There were serious jug bands, family groups, comic bands, bands with more strings than a zither-that is 4-6 mandolins, 3 guitars, two or three string bass players, banjos and horns, jugs and raging, manic washboard players! There was something for everyone with plenty left over, if you know what I mean!
So, mark your calendar now and plan on hitting the festival next year to be held at about the same time and place.
Thanks everyone for YOUR support and thanks to all of those who came out and made a full day of it with us!
