Howdy Y’all and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The clock over here at my house seems to be ticking faster than ever hurrying the last minutes of 2009 toward the midnight hour when the new year, 2010, “the year of the Tiger”, will come tipping or roaring in.

Looking back over this past year I can see much to be grateful and thankful for. I could not have made it though this year 2009, and its tough economic times and hard travelling (which included the loss of a good friend, Roy Garner, and some others) without the great help and support I have received from my family and friends...all of you! YOU are the ones who made 2009 a really great year for me.
Thank YOU all for coming out to our live shows...AND for buying and supporting our music- especially our 2009 release, WALKING THE DOG.

(This Cd was chosen by WWOZ Radio, New Orleans, as one of the Top Ten BEST Cds of 2009.)

In the NEW YEAR, midsummer 2010, be on the look out for our NEXT NEW RELEASE, WOOLEY BULLY EXPRESS, recorded this past summer down in New Orleans. We will kick off this new Cd with a short tour in the USA.

The new Cd, WOOLEY BULLY EXPRESS, is fourteen tunes which feature my Daddy, BIG STEVE GARDNER; Wash Board Chaz; The Jake Leg Stompers, Bill Steber and Brandon Armstrong; and from Tokyo, Bill Benfield and Hisa Nakase; with special guest from the House Rockers Band, Dudley Tardo and me!

So Thanks again everyone! With the new year, look the Tiger in the eye, come out for some music when you can, be good to yourself... and I wish all of you and yours the best of the best in this NEW YEAR 2010!

Mardi Gras is the last day before the fasting season of Lent. It's the french word for "Shrove Tuesday". Literally translated, it means "fat tuesday" and was so called because it represented the last opportunity for merry making and excessive indulgence in food and drink before the solemn season of fasting.
In N'Orleans it is five days of the biggest party on planet Earth. Starting on friday of the Mardi Gras weekend and going on till fat tuesday, it is a carnival of music, dancing on the streets, parades and indulgence of every kind. There's parades every day, all kinds of colourful costumes and people generally havin fun everywhere. The amazing part of Mardi Gras is that all most all the partying is done on the streets. The whole of French Quarter and the neighbouring Canal & Poydras streets are the venue for this huge outdoor party.

In Tokyo, Bourbon St. throws a wild party on the Sunday of Mardi Gras weekend. This year Sunday February 14! With the help of Louisiana board of Tourism and the Tabasco Co. there's tons and tons of beads, throws, masks, boas and other party favours distributed to the crowds. It has now become an annual event in Tokyo and is "sold out" every year.
